Why you should rent DVC Points from DVC Rental Store

Disney’s Grand Floridan Villas

So you are heading back to Walt Disney World and want to stay at the Deluxe Resorts without paying the Deluxe Resort prices. You've heard of Disney Vacation Club but are not interested in locking yourself into a long-term 50-year contract. You also have heard the term renting DVC points, but you are not 100% sure how that works or how to find a company to trust.

In this post, I will break down the cost of renting DVC points and the pros and cons of renting DVC points from DVC Rental Store, which is my trusted source for renting Disney Vacation Club points, financing resales, and purchasing Disney Vacation Club's resale contracts.

Where do the rental points come from?

They come from owners like me! If we do not have a Walt Disney World trip planned, or maybe we are taking a year off and need to rent out points we may lose. We hand them over to a trusted agency like DVC Rental Shop to rent them out for us.

Why DVC rental store?

There are a lot of companies and individuals that rent Disney Vacation Club points. But I only want to recommend businesses I know and trust. As a DVC owner, I have yet to have the opportunity to rent out points. But I did a deep dive when I discovered that DVC Rental Store owned Monera Financial, the company we used to finance our resale contract for Animal Kingdom Lodge. They handled our purchase so well and were accessible for any of our questions we had while purchasing those points.

Then I found out they have a stress-free cancellation policy. Most DVC rentals do not have any refund policy. You are on your own to get trip insurance once you rent DVC points. I understand why it would be difficult to manage so many DVC accounts with different "use years" and the banking and borrowing that happen during renting (if that sounds like a foreign language, it is! It's the DVC language of booking.)

Why Should I Rent DVC Points?

If you want to stay at Deluxe Resorts, this will save you anywhere from 30-50% on Disney prices. If you have a larger family, staying in the DVC room gives you more space, a full kitchen (one bedroom and larger), and a washer and dryer in unit (one bedroom and larger.)

Differences in DVC Rooms and Resort Rooms at Deluxe Resorts

Bay Lake Tower - Two Bedroom Suite 2nd Bedroom - Mickey Contemporary Theme

Main Tower 5th Sleeper Room - Incredibles Theme

DVC rooms only receive housekeeping on days four and 8 of your stay. DVC rooms typically do not have the same theme as the main resort hotel rooms. Here are some examples, at The Contemporary Resort, the Main Tower has a Mid-Century Modern Incredibles themed room. In contrast, Bay Lake Tower looks more like 80s Modern Disney—the same as Disney's Polynesian Village. The DVC rooms have a Hawaiian Mickey theme, while the new resort rooms have a Moana theme.

Even in a studio room, DVC rooms have a refrigerator. In the studio rooms, you will typically find a dorm-size refrigerator. In a one-bedroom or larger DVC Villa, you will always have a full kitchen with a cooktop, pots, pans, and cutlery.

A big perk is the DVC Community Halls for guests at the DVC Villas and not for regular rooms.

how far in advance can i book

DVC owners can book reservations, 11 months in advance. So the optimal window if you are requesting a specific resort and specific dates is going to be putting that request in 12 to 11 months in advance that will give you a better chance of getting those hard to get reservations especially around the holidays if you're wanting to stay at places like Wilderness Lodge or the Grand Floridian.

But DVC Rental Store has numerous reservations that pop up all the time, so always put in a request and always check available reservations. Many DVC owners change their minds last minute, cannot roll over their points, and put them up to rent. So always check the site!

How do I rent DVC points from DVC Rental Store?

There are two ways to book through DVC Rental Store. You can view their reservations with dates and resorts already confirmed and booked. If you do not see a DVC Rental that fits your schedule, you can put in a request for the dates and the resorts.

Last minute trip, no problem! You can sometimes you can find the best deals on last minute trips! Finding rates as low as $15 per point for rentals.

If you are interested in budgeting how many points you need for specific resort DVC Rental Store has a points calculator that can help you budget for your trip.

Payment

Another reason I love DVC Rental Store is that you do not have to pay in full to book! That is a considerable relief for many families who do not have a couple of thousands of dollars to pay upfront. It is nice to put a deposit down and pay in little increments of pay in bulk 75 days before the vacation.

So here are your steps…

  1. Check Availability

  2. Submit your request a security deposit ($100)

  3. Sign Documents and Submit the initial payment (The initial payment is equal to 25% of your total cost minus your $100 security deposit)

  4. Pay your remaining 75% balance NO LATER than 75 days before your arrival. Any reservations that are made under 75 days will require full payment.

  5. Head to Disney!!!

Customer Service

The one thing that I am so impressed with is the customer service line. DVC Rental Store has customer service from 9 am - 9 pm every weekday and 10 am - 5 pm EST on weekend, call 1-855-382-7368. If you get stuck or you are in a bind with your DVC rental you will have a number that you can call to help you out. Feeling secure that you will always have someone to speak to if something goes wrong with your Disney Vacation

finance your stay with bread pay!

One of the significant perk of booking through the Walt Disney World website is that for $200, you can book your room and pay overtime. Essentially giving you the freedom to "finance" your vacation. Many DVC rental companies require you to pay your entire balance upfront. DVC rental store partners with Bread Pay, offering you offer low monthly payments, no prepayment penalty fees, and an opportunity to finance your Walt Disney World Vacation! These flexible monthly payment plans that you can finance over 3, 6, and 12 months starting from 0% APR. Financing is available for purchases between 50 and $10,000! Giving you another option and reason to book your DVC rental through DVC Rental Store.

I'm a DVC Member and how do i rent out my points?

If you are a DVC member and want to rent out points for the year, your can register as a member and make up to $18 per point to rent them out.
