Best Rides for Disney Infants and Toddlers at Animal Kingdom
Animal kingdom is always our most laid-back day. Not because there isn’t much to do at the park, but it’s just the vibe Animal Kingdom gives you. It opens early, and it closes early, so it makes it feel like it’s a shorter day, even though you can still be at that park for 12 hours.
Animal Kingdom is my family's second favorite park. This park gives my family opportunities to learn about our environment there, which my kids love doing. My children also love being able to interact with animals. And there are also a few good thrill rides at Animal Kingdom. But most rides and attractions are pretty low-key, making my kids happy.
Character Meet and Greets:
Mickey and Minnie – Adventure Outpost
***Character meetings are not regular yet at Animal Kingdom – but you can catch a water cavalcade on the Discovery River with some of your Disney Characters. We will update this list as characters return.****
Shows:
Festival of the Lion king
Street performers
Finding Nemo: The Big Blue…and Beyond!
It's tough to be a bug – this is a 3D show in the dark, with bugs and loud noises.
Rides:
Kilimanjaro Safaris – This is a little bit of a bumpy ride. If you are pregnant, you may not feel comfortable riding this ride, and it did bounce our daughter around, so we held her tight. This is about an 18-minute safari ride.
Affection Section at Rafiqi's Planet Watch
Wildlife Express Train – strollers must be folded if you bring them on the train
TriceaTop Spin
Na'vi River Journey
The Boneyard
Trails & Treks: (lots of walking but they are stroller friendly)
Pangani Forest Exploration Trail
Maharajah Jungle Trek
Discovery Island Trails
One of the adventures that we love is Wilderness Explorers. If you have only a toddler, this is not something they will enjoy. However, because our daughter has older siblings, she enjoyed doing the activities with them, and her bigs are very good about including her in all the fun.
