How to Order Resort Groceries at Walt Disney World

Groceries are essential at Walt Disney World, even if you only need a few items. One game-changing tip that I always suggest is to bring extra snacks. However, if you are traveling by plane or have a packed car, how do you manage to get them?

Here is all the information you need on getting snacks and groceries to your resort room.

RESORT LOBBY & QUICK SERVICE LOCATIONS

Every hotel within the Disney Resort Collection features a shopping area in the main lobby or Quick Service dining service. These shopping areas will have a refrigerated section and a snack section for your convenience. However, the items available may be priced higher than usual. But you need not worry about running out of essentials, such as milk for your toddler, as you have access to these facilities. It is advisable to check the opening hours by calling the front desk or checking upon arrival since the timings may vary.

INSTACART, GARDEN GROCER & TARGET

I find it convenient to use Instacart and Target for my grocery and supply deliveries. Although there are other companies available. Instacart is great for refrigerated goods and grocery items, and the shopper usually visits Publix, but you can also shop at Costco and other stores. Target offers a good variety of dry snacks, shampoo, conditioner, and other similar items. However, the Target store located near Walt Disney World is mainly intended for traveling families and does not have many of the traditional Target items. You will find mostly groceries, policies, and Disney-themed items there. I often forget something while shopping, so having these options available to me greatly reduces my stress. Typically, I schedule my Instacart delivery to arrive on the day I arrive AFTER 4 p.m., since that is when check-in begins, and I put the order in 1-2 weeks in advance.

Garden grocery is the Disney preferred grocery delivery, and they allow you to order your groceries up to two weeks in advance.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THE GROCERIES ARE DELIVERED

If you arrange for a grocery delivery while staying at a Disney Resort Collection Hotel, the Cast Members at Bell Services will receive the delivery on your behalf and keep your items safe until you are ready to collect them. This means you won't have to wait for the delivery and can make the most of your day. However, if you order items requiring age verification, you must be present to accept the delivery.

Additionally, any perishable items will be refrigerated upon arrival, so you can order fresh food. Knowing what type of refrigerator is available in your room is important. If you are staying in a Disney Vacation Club Villa that is one bedroom or larger, you may have a mini fridge or cooler fridge in your room.

To collect your items, go to Bell Services and provide them with your name. They will then retrieve your order from the storage area. Alternatively, Bell Services can bring your groceries to your room account for a small fee that will be charged to your room account (currently $6, but subject to change).

Your delivery driver will request your first and last name so they can be dropped off at Bell Services. Never disclose your room number, as it is unnecessary for delivery and can pose a safety concern. There may be a $6 charge for holding your groceries at some Moderate and Value Resorts, and you may need to pick them up yourself. It's always a good idea to call the front desk to confirm. This might have been because they were busy when I called for delivery, but I have never had this experience at Deluxe Resorts. However, there is no charge for taking the groceries to your room yourself, so make sure that the $6 is credited if you end up getting them.

STOP AT PUBLIX YOURSELF

You can always stop by the grocery store if you are driving or renting a car. There are several close to Walt Disney World Resort. This will save money on tipping your delivery person, but it takes time when you are anxious to get to your Resort and unpack and relax.

MY GROCERY TIPS

Do not overbuy - you do not want a bunch or groceries left over.

Kids will need to snack more frequently than adults. But, even if you plan on buying snacks at the park for kids, its still a good idea to brgin some. Toddlers especially are happiest with full bellies.

My family does like to eat at the parks, but we still bring snacks.

Cost-saving pro-tip: If you want a cost-saving tip, bring your meals. You can take a small cooler into the park. You will save a lot of money by getting enough lunch for all the family members.

I know it's more expensive, but I buy the individual pack of everything for the parks. If you need to save money, you can always bring your snack or sandwich-size ziplock bags and divide the items out for the parks.

Jessica’ food formula:

Each kid has two snacks at the park daily.

Toddler: Three snacks at the park per day and one mini meal.

Adults: One snack per day at the park.

Items for breakfast: Cereal (one box to two boxes MAX)

Half Gallon Milk

Yogurt/Breakfast Bars

One case of water per 4 days (we are a family of 6)

Preferred Coffee if I am feeling bougie (some rooms have Keurig/some have regular coffee pots. You can ask your front desk.)

Cereal and Milk depending on length of stay

When we stay in a DVC Villa - we plan out what meals we will cook in our room, so our grocery list on those stays looks a little different than in a standard hotel room with only a refrigerator or cooler box.

Here are your steps:

Download the apps - Instacart or Target.

Head the the Garden Grocer website.

Place your order 1 to 2 weeks prior to your arrival.

Arrival date: 8/1/2022
