How to Use My Disney Experience at Walt Disney World

My Disney Experience Podcast: Click Here

If you're planning a trip to Walt Disney World, My Disney Experience is an app that you should definitely consider downloading. It is the all-in-one hub for accessing all the information you need while visiting the park, and it can make your vacation experience a lot smoother. This app links all your information, such as your tickets, reservations, and Genie+ selections, to one convenient location, eliminating the need for anything else!

It is worth noting that sometimes, even if you book through the Disney website, reservations may not automatically connect. So, it is always best to double-check and ensure that everything is linked to the app to avoid any inconvenience.

Once you have the app, you will see six categories in boxes on the main page. These categories include "My Tickets & Passes," "Rides, Shows & Lightning Lane Entry," "Reserve Dining," "Merchandise Checkout," "Order Food," and "Chat With Us." You can choose from a list of topics to help you while you're at the park, such as showtimes, attraction wait times, and dining reservations.

Below these categories, you can update and edit your profile, access health services, leave a cast compliment, and link your party. One of the app's best features is the Car Locator, which helps you find your car easily while parking at a Walt Disney World Resort.

If you're traveling to Disneyland, the app is also available and called Disneyland. It has all the same features as My Disney Experience, making it an excellent tool to have while you're there.

The app is your best friend when it comes to planning your trip. It houses Genie+, My Day, and Tip Board while you're there, which are all useful tools for navigating the park and maximizing your time. It is best to download this app BEFORE your 60-day window, which is the earliest you can book dining reservations. I recommend 90 days before your vacation to ensure you have enough time to plan and make the most of your trip.

To get started with the app, first, make sure you have downloaded either My Disney Experience or the Disneyland App and open it. Scroll down to where you see "Account" and click on "Profile". From there, you will see two tabs at the top: "My Profile" and "Friends & Friends List". Click on the latter to go to +Add as a guest. Depending on whether your guest already has a My Disney Experience account, the process of adding them will differ.

For children under 13, you will need to add them by choosing "I'll enter their name and age". Once you enter their details, the app will confirm that you manage their plans.

If your guest already has a My Disney Experience account, you can link them to your account by going to "Profile" and scrolling down to the bottom. Click "Show My Linking Code", then either use your camera to scan the QR code or manually type in their information.

If you want to make your experience at Walt Disney World smoother and more enjoyable, it is important you can set up My Disney Experience (MDE) beforehand. This will save you time and stress once you arrive at the park. With MDE, you can link your tickets, make dining reservations, and get familiar with Genie+ from the comfort of your own home.

Walt Disney World is a huge place with a lot of attractions, shows, and dining options. By using MDE to plan your itinerary in advance, you can prioritize the experiences you don't want to miss and make the most of your time at the park. This means you can spend less time worrying about logistics and more time having fun!

I hope this helps you know where to initially start planning!
