Hollywood and Vine: Minnie's Seasonal Dine - Hollywood Studios, Echo Lake

*Pickey Eater Recommended

Hollywood and Vine Character Dining has been a regular spot for my family for years, and it's only recently that we've realized why we keep coming back. The food is surprisingly delicious and it has a unique variety. We've visited this place many times during different seasons and we're glad that the buffet is back. We weren't too fond of the meal options during the COVID times when it was served family-style. All in all, it's a great spot for us to enjoy a nice meal with our loved ones and get to see the Fab Five!

You can get that reservation booking at your 60 day window. If you are unable to get this reservation, there are two other options for you, you can set up dining alerts and typically you will get a reservation if you have dining alert, set up. Make sure to read the blog and completion so you know how to book using those dining alerts. And then they're also maybe a walk up less displayed in your my Disney experience app. So remember to check that the morning of your Disney Hollywood studios today if this is something you want to add to your park day.

Characters at Hollywood & Vine Lunch & Dinner:

So let's dive in. First, let's talk about the characters. There are five characters at Lunch and Dinner, Minnie, Mickey, Donald, Pluto and Goofy. The fantastic thing about this Lunch and Dinner is that the character outfits change with the season which we actually really love, it does not change the experience but it feels like something new and fun each time we go. Here are the dates for 2023, January 4 - February 28: Minnie's Silver Screen Dine, March 1 - May 30L=: Minnie's Springtime Dine, May 31 - August 11: Minnie's Summertime Dine, August 12 - November 7: Minnie's Halloween Dine, November 8: Minnie's Holiday Dine. (Just a reminder breakfast at Hollywood and Vine is the Disney Jr. Breakfast with totally different characters and covered in a different blog. )

Location:

Hollywood and Vine is located at Hollywood Studies in Echo Lake by the giant dinosaur Gertie. It is next door to 50s Prime Time, another fun dining experience.

Once you check-in, you will wait under the awning in front of the restaurant until your table is ready. When you enter the restaurant, it resembles an old-time diner with black and white patterned flooring and black table tops with silver metal chairs. A large buffet in the back of the restaurant has multiple food sections, including a dessert bar. Simliar to 50s Prime Time diner it is transported back in to the Golden Era of films. It really feels like a dusty old diner.

Side note: of all the dining experiences, this atmosphere here is not over the top, and honestly, its a little underwhelming, and the food is random and mismatched, but it's all delicious. But it's hard to compare this to other experiences that seem like they flow better or have a cohesive theme. This dining experience probably fit more when Hollywood Studios was MGM and more about the movies versus what it has become today.

Food:

The kid's buffet is located in the center of the two buffet lines and typically has eight options. There was pasta with red sauce, green beans, mac and cheese, baked chicken, mini corn dogs, chicken nuggets, and potato barrels. My kids ate so much at this dining experience, so I rate that a 10/10. They enjoyed this food so much and kept going back for more. This is one of the dining experiences that I got my money's worth regarding food for the kids.

The adult buffet has two lines that start with a fruit and salad buffet. The Caesar dressing was some of the best we have had a Disney. I ended up having two salads, my first with a balsamic vignette. Then after tasting my husband's Caesar, I went back for more. Other things we loved on the menu was the Salmon with Beurre Blanc sauce, Sour Cream and Chive Whipped Potatoes, Mac and Cheese with Shrimp and Bacon and so many more options. This buffet was really good!

Experience:

Overall, this is a good experience. Is it mind-blowing food? No, but it's delicious. The diner does not have the over-the-top elegance like Cinderella's Royal Table or feel sophisticated like Topolino's. But it feels like home, and as random as having salmon and meatballs with a side of mac and cheese can be, my plate is always empty at the end of the meal. The kids love it here, it's one of their favorites, and for that reason, we will always be back.

who is Hollywood & Vine Best for:

This is for families and groups who are traveling with young children. It is also for those who want to both meet classic Disney characters and enjoy a good meal. Moreover, this is the perfect destination for anyone who is looking for a character buffet that offers a nice variety of food choices, including plant-based options that are worth trying. If you are interested in meeting several characters at the same time, especially in special costumes like Halloween and holiday outfits, this is the place to be.

Let us know what you think of Hollywood and Vine? Is this somewhere you would want eat?
