Best Friends Breakfast featuring Lilo & Stitch: Disney's Polynesian Village Resort

If you’re looking for a delicious fun Hawaiian inspired breakfast, adorable characters, an laid back atmosphere Ohana is the breakfast for you! My kids LOVED this breakfast and seeing they favorite character Stitch. I highly recommend going here, so let’s take a deep dive! Breakfast is from 7:30 am to 12:15 pm daily.

Cost (2023)

Child (3 -9) $35

Adult (10 and over) $59.99

Location

Located at Disney’s Polynesian Village Ohana is located on the second floor of the Great Ceremonial Hall with check it right by the stairs. When you arrive you’ll check in your entire party, and if your table it not ready there is plenty of seating in the waiting area. There is also Moana Mercantile that is close to check in that you can browse and shop until your table is ready

In the evening Ohana turns into a signature dining experience famously known for its ‘Ohana Noodles. There are no characters at Dinner - so make sure you book breakfast if you are looking for Lilo & Stitch.

Disney’s Polynesian resort is a Magic Kingdom Area Resort and can be accessed from the Monorail. If you are coming from another resort and taking Disney’s Transportation only to the Polynesian I suggest going to your closest park and taking a bus over to the Polynesian. Or you can take the Bus to Disney Springs and get on the bus to the Polynesian from there. There is also the option of taking an Uber for around $10 Resort to Resort, Minnie Vans will cost a lot more but they provide two car seats, but I do not recommend taking the Minnie Van in this instance.

Ohana is decorated with tikis and tropical elements. Most of the tables in the restaurant are located near the large windows, offering a view of the Polynesian resort and the Magic Kingdom in the background. If you are lucky enough to get a seat right by the window, you can enjoy a beautiful view of Disney's Polynesian Village's Lava Pool while you dine.

Once your table is called, you’re escorted to your seat. Where is the cast member will get your drink order and shortly after sitting you will receive the first round of food for your breakfast.

Food

Before the pandemic, I believe this place used to be a buffet. You can still see the areas where the buffet was once set up. Since returning, we have visited this breakfast spot four times, and each time they have served everything family-style. You can enjoy as much as you like, and you can even request specific items that you would like more of for your table. For example, we wanted only waffles and sausage, and they brought up a huge plate of just those items.

The meal starts with their famous coconut pineapple bread, which was a hit with the adults but only 50/50 with the kids. After that, you get to try The Poly's famous POG juice, a passionfruit orange and guava mix that's a fan favorite throughout Walt Disney World Resort.

The meal comes with regular coffee, fountain drinks, water, and POG juice. However, if you want other drinks, you can order them at an extra cost. If you like, you can try the Kona sourced coffee, which comes in a French press and serves two people.

There are also other non-alcoholic drinks available, including the Lilo Smoothie, Stitch Smoothie, Moana Smoothie, and a specialty character drink. For those who prefer alcoholic drinks, there are specialty cocktails like the Polynesian Red Eye, Lapu Lapu, Warped Hula Hoop, Wasabi Bloody Mary, and a Mimosa.

The breakfast is served as an all-you-care-to-eat style, which means you can have as much as you want. Each breakfast skillet consists of scrambled eggs, pork breakfast sausage links, Hawaiian-style ham topped with pineapple compote, fried island-style potatoes, Mickey-shaped waffles, Stitch waffles, and biscuits.

Characters

The characters featured at this breakfast are Stitch, Lilo, Mickey, and Pluto.

Once you are seated, it's a good idea to ask the cast member about the direction from which the characters come. This will help you prepare for the next interaction. If you want autographs, keep your autograph book open and your pens ready. It's better to use retractable pens or sharpies that make it easier for the characters to sign. This is especially useful if you have multiple books to sign, as it can keep things moving smoothly.

Experience

Since the pandemic, my family and I have visited Ohana five times, and it has quickly become one of our favorite spots to visit during our trips to Disney. We adore everything about this restaurant, from the delicious food to the delightful characters and the lively ambiance.

Moreover, it's the only place my daughters can meet their favorite animated character, Stitch. He is always there to greet them, pose for pictures, and make their day extra special. The breakfast at Ohana is a must-try, with various dishes ranging from Mickey waffles to scrambled eggs, sausages, and fresh fruit. The food is always cooked to perfection, and the servers are friendly and attentive, making sure we have everything we need.

After breakfast, we can easily hop on the monorail and head to the Magic Kingdom Park, just a short ride away. The convenience of the location and the ease of transportation make Ohana an ideal spot for families who want to make the most of their time at Disney.

Overall, from the delicious food to the fantastic atmosphere, this restaurant has become a staple in our Disney trips, and we can't wait to visit again.

Cons

My experience with character dining at Walt Disney World has been that it takes longer than the suggested 90 minutes. Both times I went in 2022 and 2023, it took a full 2 hours. To avoid frustration, I recommend allowing for this extra time, especially if you have plans to go to the parks afterward. It might be best to do this activity on a rest day to avoid having to rush.
