Hix Family Does Disney

How often do you go to Disney?: First time as parents. We've both gone a few times on our own.

Trip Deets:

September 25-29 (extended through 10/1 due to Hurricane Ian)
Park days 9/26 MK and 9/27 Epcot
2 adults, 2 kids 2.5 and 7 months
Stayed at All Star Music 🎶

The Best Part of Your Trip?: The best part was seeing my daughters face when they saw Mickey for the first time. There is some real Disney magic that brought happy tears to my eyes. We actually had a lot of firsts this trip: first time at Disney, first time seeing fireworks, first time meeting a character, first ride, first hurricane, and my baby got her first tooth!

What Would You Do Different?: I want to say not travel during hurricane season again, but honestly I'd go to Disney anytime. I would take a rest day between park days with two kids as young as mine. Our girls were troopers, but we ended up leaving Epcot early because we were all exhausted.

What is the Best Tip you got from Well Hello Disney?: Literally everything. But the best thing was the reminder that we should take our trip at a baby's pace with two little ones. Prioritizing what we really wanted to experience and planning our day around that helped me to not feel like I was missing out on other things because I got to do what we REALLY wanted to do with our girls.

Give us Your Best Disney Tip!: I have two!

  1. I am a pumping mom, and I utilized the baby care centers, which are great. But, having my manual pump with me helped if I needed to quickly pump, or at Disney Springs where there isn't a nursing/pumping area. A portable pump would work well too, I just prefer my manual in a pinch.

  2. Bring a clear jumbo ziplock bag to put all your stroller things in so you can quickly fold your stroller for the busses, but also so you can get through security faster.
Ok I lied, I have a 3rd. If you need to keep milk cold, you can get as many cups of ice as you want from any quick service. We brought ziploc bags and filled them with ice.

What was your most useful Platform on Well Hello Disney?: Instagram!

Leave Well Hello Disney a review!: She is amazing, and her goal truly is to help you have the most magical trip. I have never felt so prepared in my life in doing something with my kids. She knows the parks well, helps to recommend items that work for your family, answers any questions you might have, and her Amazon list was so helpful! She thought of everything.

COMPLETELY OPTIONAL! We would love to hear how you saved money, your budget, and any programs you used to help reduce the cost of your trip:: We booked using the Disney+ deal to save on our room. We also bought some things ahead of time during a shop Disney sale. We bought a bubble wand at 40% off, and we stocked up on Disney clothes before leaving.
We also checked the activities at our hotel and did some of the free things they had set up such as tissue paper rainbows, swimming, and marshmallow roasting.
