The Heckmasters Disney Trip 2022

How often do you go to Disney?: This was our first time going as a family. My husband and I had both gone as kids, but that was many moons ago. :)

Trip Deets (Month, Length of Trip, Group Demographics): May 21-27
Our immediate family - Mom, Dad, Daughter (10), Son (7)
Ride/Show focused trip

The Best Part of Your Trip?: There were so many great parts, it's hard to just pick one. The weather was great - it amazingly didn't rain once the entire week we were there. The crowds were not as bad as I was thinking they would be and we didn't spend our entire vacation waiting in lines which was one of my major worries going into the trip. But most of all my favorite part was seeing the pure joy on my kids faces the entire week and having fun as a family and making memories that will last a lifetime.

What Would You Do Different?: We were pretty tired at the end of the trip, but I wish we would have had just ONE more day to not make it feel like some of our park days were so rushed. I think with one more day we could have taken a bit more leisurely pace.

What is the Best Tip you got from Well Hello Disney?: I really took to heart the idea of making a priority list of things we want to do at each park and focusing on that and viewing everything else as icing on our cake. By really thinking of our priorities ahead of time I feel like we had a good plan going into each park day and we weren't overwhelmed trying to do every single thing the parks have to offer. It was a good balance between having a plan, but still having flexibility in the day and being able to adjust our plans as needed.

Give us Your Best Disney Tip!: If your budget can afford it, the combination of park hopping and genie plus really worked well for us. This allowed us to adjust our plans for the second half of our trip to go back and ride our families favorite rides multiple times. We were also able to stack our genie plus reservations by being able to start making reservations at a second park for the evening when we used up all our available reservations at the park we were at. For example, our first day we started early at Animal Kingdom and used genie plus for all the rides/shows we wanted to do (plus some walk ons for rides with low wait times) and we were able to snag reservations at night at Hollywood for all the Star Wars rides and all the Toy Story rides. I was pleasantly surprised that we were able to do all of that in one day!

What was your most useful Platform on Well Hello Disney?: I really enjoyed watching the Instagram tutorials and priority rides lists prior to our trip. They really helped me feel prepared going into our trip and I felt like they were very reasonable and realistic.
