Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique Overview

We have been going to Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique since my youngest daughter was three years old and able to go. Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique has become a family tradition. We have experienced it with my son as a knight, the boys in full prince outfits, with a group of Dance friends, individually, and even the sweetest moment when both of my daughters were able to do it in the fall of 2023. Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique creates magical memories that never get old. For families visiting Walt Disney World, Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique offers a magical, once-in-a-lifetime experience for young children eager to transform into their favorite Disney characters. With its enchanting makeovers, a visit to the boutique is a perfect way to sprinkle a bit of pixie dust into your vacation. This blog will walk you through everything you need to know—from booking your spot and frequently asked questions to pairing the experience with a royal meal.

What is Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique?

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is a specialty salon designed for children ages 3 to 12, where they can receive magical transformations into Disney princesses, knights, or other beloved characters. Locations include Magic Kingdom Park’s Cinderella Castle with each boutique offering themed packages that include hairstyling, makeup, and costumes.

The Check-In Process

• When you arrive at your chosen boutique at Cinderella Castle it's recommended to check in 15-20 minutes before your appointment.

• At check-in, your child will be greeted by a Cast Member who will confirm your package and provide your child with a selection of outfits if you've chosen a package with a gown or knight attire.

• After confirming details, you will be seated in the waiting area, until a Fairy Godmother Apprientence calls your name to take you back to the Dressing rooms or the Dress Room to pick a costume.

How to Book Your Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique Reservation

It's important to book your Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique experience early because appointments fill up quickly. Booking at the 60-day window, exactly at midnight (12 am), is crucial during peak times. Waiting until 6 am may result in all reservations being taken.

Steps to Book:

1. Log in to your My Disney Experience account. You can also use the My Disney Experience app, but personally, I prefer to do this on the computer.

2. Click My Disney Experience on the top right go down to Book Enchanted Extras/Experiences. Scroll down to Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique.  Or you can just utilize the search feature.

3. Check availability and select a date and time. Booking can be made up to 60 days before your visit for those with a Disney resort reservation and 30 days for off-property guests. The earlier you book, the better your chances of securing your desired spot.

4. Choose your package based on your child's preferences (we'll cover those below). Expect the experience to last 2 hours from check-in to completion.

5. Confirm the appointment and check for a confirmation email. Your reservation will also appear in your My Disney Experience itinerary

Pricing Options at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique

There are several pricing options to fit different budgets and experiences, ranging from simple hairstyling to full royal transformations. As of 2024, here’s a look at the packages:

1. The Carriage Package ($99.95 + tax):

   • Everything from The Crown Package

   • A tutu or knight costume

2. The Disney Encanto Package ($179.95 + tax):

   • Mirabel or Isabela gown

   • Coordinating accessories

   • Hairstyling

   • Shimmering makeup and face gem

   • Princess sash and cinch bag

   • Nail polish

3. The Castle Package ($199.95 + tax):

   • Everything from The Crown Package

   • Deluxe Disney Princess gown of your child’s choice

   • Coordinating accessories like a crown or wand

4. The Deluxe Castle Package ($229.95 + tax):

   • Everything from The Castle Package

   • An extra accessory, such as a tiara or upgraded gown accessories

5. The Knight Package ($19.95 + tax):

   • Hairstyling with gel

   • Sword and shield

6. The Deluxe Knight Package ($99.95 + tax):

7. The Princess Signature Dress Package ($450.00 + tax):

You can also purchase extra items like shoes, tiaras, and more to complete the look! My family always opts for the Carriage or Castle Package. We have tried both Knight packages as well. If I am being honest, I prefer the Carriage package because you get a shirt. If your princess is tired of their costume, they can still wear the "best day ever" shirt. Also, buying and bringing a dress from home is much cheaper and speeds up the experience.

The Dressing Process

For packages that include a princess gown or knight outfit, the dressing rooms are where the magic begins. Your child can choose from a variety of Disney Princess costumes, such as Cinderella, Ariel, Tiana, or Elsa. If your child is transforming into a knight, they’ll choose a knight’s costume complete with a sword and shield.

Then they head back to the dressing room to experience a Magical Greeting from the ultimate Fairy Godmother and get dressed. You can probably fit 2 adults in a standard dressing room. When we did the group of four girls, they did give us a bigger dressing room.

Once dressed, they’re ready for the real fun—heading to the chair for their makeover!

The Magical Makeover

At Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, every child gets their own Fairy Godmother Apprientence or Knight Attendant to complete the transformation. Here's what you can expect:

1. Hairstyling: Your child can choose from a selection of styles, from a regal updo with a tiara to a princess bun.

2. Makeup: A soft shimmer of eyeshadow, lip gloss, and blush is applied, giving your child that signature princess glow.

3. Nails: A light, child-friendly nail polish in sparkly or pastel colors is applied to match their overall look.

4. Accessories: They’ll receive accessories like a sash and cinch bag for princesses or a sword and shield for knights.

5. Final Reveal: The chair is turned around, and your child gets to see their royal transformation for the first time! Cameras are encouraged, so be sure to capture the magical moment.

Pairing Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique with a Princess Dining Experience

A perfect way to enhance your Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique experience is by pairing it with a princess-themed meal. Here are two of the best dining experiences:

1. Cinderella's Royal Table (Magic Kingdom Park):

   Located inside Cinderella Castle, this meal allows your newly-transformed princess to dine with Cinderella and other Disney royalty. You'll enjoy a regal menu while your child gets personal time with the princesses for photos and autographs. Since it's located in the Magic Kingdom, this is an excellent choice if your appointment is at the boutique inside the castle.

2. Akershus Royal Banquet Hall (EPCOT):

   Situated in the Norway Pavilion, Akershus offers a buffet-style meal with a rotating cast of Disney princesses, including Snow White, Belle, and Aurora. It's a great option if you're planning to spend the day at EPCOT after your makeover.

FAQs about Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique

What if I have more than one child that wants to participate in Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique?

Not a problem. I have booked this two ways. We got lucky and booked both girls for one of the trips at the same time. On another trip, we got four reservations, all within 30 minutes of each other. We checked in and asked if we could have all four girls do the makeover. We did have to wait an additional 30 minutes, but we had the best experience having the four girls do the makeover together. It is one of the best memories we have of Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique.

What is the best age for this expereince?

You must be the ages 3 - 12 years old to expereince Bibbidi. My 3 year old will be experiencing it for the first time this July 2023, and the reason I know she will do well is because she is not rattled by people touching her head. Since we do her hair daily because of her beautiful curls, we know she will be able to sit and enjoy the expereince. If you have a child that cannot sit, and does not like their head touched, this is not the experience for them.

What does it cost?

As of July 2023 the Carriage Package is $99 and the packages go up from there.

Does the experience change if you bring your own dress?

Absolutely not. I always thought I would just buy a dress there. By bringing your own dress, you save a lot of money. Plus, if you have a child with decision paralysis, it can be overwhelming in the dress salon. They have EVERY Disney Princess, Tinkerbell, Mirabel & Islabela. Some may feel they have too many options, and bringing your own dress will alleviate that stress. The main reason I like to bring my own dress now is we get a super cute t-shirt, and when my daughter was done wearing her dress, she put back on The Best Day Ever t-shirt, which is so soft. 

When do I make a reservation?

This expereince is an enchanted extra and is made at your 60 day window at midnight. I do not know why they allow enchanted extras to be booked at midnight but it can make for a long day since dining reservations are made at 60 days at 6 am.

How long does the makeover take?

It can take anywhere from 30 to 90 minutes, on average the whole process for us has taken a little over an hour.

What if I do not get a reservation?

No worries! Use the app StakeApp for an alert - it has been the best for getting enchanted extras!

Tips for Making the Most of Your Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique Experience

• Book early: Secure your spot 60 days out if possible to avoid disappointment.

• Budget for extras: Photos aren't included in the packages, but you can purchase a Memory Maker photo package for professional photos.

• Timing: Schedule when you want - the experience is great no matter what. But keep in mind kids are happier and more rested in the morning. We sometimes do it right before a dining experience.

• Be comfortable: If your child doesn't like elaborate gowns, you can bring your own costume or opt for a simpler package.

• Pair with dining: Don't forget to schedule a princess meal to complete the royal experience.
