The princess and knight experience has returned, and it was better than ever. My daughter and son first experienced Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in 2018, choosing the Princess Castle Package and a Knight package. My other son opted for the Pirate option in Adventureland, which Disney is no longer offering. Unfortunately, as of November 2022, the Grand Floridian and Disney Springs locations have yet to reopen.

Upon arrival, you will check into the front desk at the location at Magic Kingdom. You are greeted by a Fairy Godmother Apprentice that will ask you what your preferred name will be, Princess, Mermaid, etc. You will be given the price book to decide which option you want. Once again, we went with the Castle Package since we did not have our own dress.

We waited for about 15 minutes after that to have my daughter called back. They will call in order of appointments. If you get there early but have a later appointment, you will see the other guests go before you.

She was then escorted by a Fairy Godmother apprentice, who took her to the room of dresses. You will be asked by the apprentice which package you are selecting before touring the room. The royal payment is due, and if you have a dress, this is when you would hand it off.

Once she selected a dress, we were whisked away to the Royal dressing rooms. When she walked into a giant mirror and her dress hanging on the wall, three family members maximum can fit on this bench in the dressing room. There is only a little space. In the blast, we split the group during the makeover, so we were not cramped in the small space.

In the dressing room, your fairy God Mother's apprentice will go over hairstyle choices, and once you decide, she will leave you to get dressed and meet the head lady in charge, yours truly, Fairy Godmother. Once she was dressed, we headed back to the room of dresses to wait for the next cast member to escort us to the castle.

Here are some differences I noticed:

Pre-pandemic, the flow was not the best, they had dressing rooms in the castle as well, and it was a mess. So I like that they have two separate areas now.

Another big difference I noticed and appreciated was the inclusivity. Not just by asking what name they want to be called. But my daughter has very curly hair, and previously they were taught to pull the hair back into a bun, no questions asked. So can you believe they had ALMOND and coconut hair cream to moisturize her hair and then used her curly hair texture to make her bun instead of just brushing it out? It was fabulous! I was so unbelievably pleased, and my daughter loved it.

One last thing to note is the cast members REALLY pushed internal beauty, and I loved that. They wanted to make the makeover memorable, but they really let them know that even without all the makeup and gorgeous dress, they were beautiful inside and out. I love the message Disney was pushing during this makeover.

This is not new, but it should be noted a photo pass photographer is there to take pictures during all makeovers.

Also you will receive a clinch bag with all the items used for the make over

Once the makeover was complete, it was time for pixie dust and the grand reveal. Disney understands drama, so with the phrase Bibbdi Bobbidi Boo, the Fairy Godmother Apprientence turns the chair around to reveal your newest little prince or princess. Then when she was ready to be introduced to the room as Princess Maya, the chair was turned back around, and all those sitting closely cheered. It was such a sweet moment!

Once our makeover was completed, our Fairy Godmother Apprienece took us to the castle murals and did a little speech, and gave my daughter her Cinderella carriage necklace to constantly remind her that she is a princess no matter what.

It was such a fantastic experience. I would recommend it to anyone. It's a splurge, but it's a fun one! The icing on the cake was Cinderella's slipper was out by Prince Charming’s Carousel, and we got an amazing photo of her holding the glass slipper.

If you want to enhance this experience combine it with a princess dining experience! Check out our list of Character Dining options at Walt Disney World.
